For Parents (Focus & Patience)

🧠Screen-Free Focus: In a world of instant gratification, our Youth Labs teach kids the value of the "long game." Following complex visual guides builds incredible spatial awareness, patience, and fine motor skills in an inspiring, supportive space.

For Parents (Safety & No Mess)

🧼 100% Mess-Free Engineering: Parents love us because Bandai’s Entry-Grade kits are snap-fit and held together entirely by friction. That means absolutely zero glue needed!

Work with confidence that you have pro guidance on site and all the tools you need within hands reach, keeping paint fumes and plastic entirely out of your living room.

What’s Gundam and Gunpla?

A giant mecha robot, standing in the sky with a blue background and clouds, with one arm extended and holding a pink energy weapon.

What’s Gundam?

If you grew up watching Cartoon Network’s Toonami in the 90s, you probably remember the giant, heroic robots of Gundam Wing. Since its start in 1979, Gundam has become the "Star Wars of Japan"—a massive sci-fi world where human pilots operate mechanical suits called "Mobile Suits."

Why it’s more than just a cartoon:

  • A "Stem" Hobby: Building these models (called Gunpla) is like high-level LEGO. It teaches patience, following complex 3D diagrams, and fine motor skills.

  • No Glue, No Mess: Unlike the model airplanes of the past, modern Gundam kits "snap-fit" together. No toxic glue or smelly paint is required to get a great-looking result.

  • Epic Stories: The shows aren't just about robots fighting; they are famous for stories about bravery, team-building, and solving conflicts.

The Bottom Line: Gundam is a 45-year-old tradition that combines 80s-90s nostalgia with a hands-on, creative outlet that gets people off their screens and building something real.

What’s Gunpla?

Gunpla is a portmanteau of "Gundam Plastic Model." These are the physical kits that allow you to build the iconic robots from the 90s cartoons by hand. Since the first kit launched in 1980, Gunpla has evolved from simple toys into a worldwide phenomenon known for its engineering brilliance.

Why Parents Love It:

  • Snap-Fit Engineering: Modern kits are held together by friction, not glue. This means no toxic fumes and no sticky messes on your kitchen table.

  • "3D Puzzles": Each kit comes with a detailed manual that functions like a 3D blueprint. It builds incredible spatial awareness and following-directions skills.

  • Pre-Colored Parts: The plastic pieces are molded in color, so the model looks fantastic right out of the box without needing paint.

  • Scale Levels: There is a kit for every age and budget, from "Entry Grade" (perfect for kids) to "Master Grade" (highly detailed for adults).

The Goal of Brooklyn Buildz is to take the intimidation factor out of the hobby. We provide the tools and the space to help new and existing builders go from a box of plastic to a finished masterpiece.
